China - Western Australia Strategic Dialogue 2023
Western Australian Premier - Hon Mark McGowan visited China for a historic five-day mission to reconnect Western Australia with its largest trading partner and strengthen partnerships with key government and industry leaders. This annual symposium has proved to be a valuable platform for participants to share their views on doing business in Western Australia and the successes and challenges they have encountered. It is the Premier's first trip to China in four years.
As a very important part of the supply chain in the mining sector, BDDrill Group was invited to Beijing for the 5th Annual China - Western Australia Strategic Dialogue. During the meeting the CEO - Riping Yang raised the intention of making a $15-30 Million investment in manufacturing facilities in WA to supply tier-one mining companies and contractors in Australia and overseas markets. He asked how the Western Australian Government would assist in overcoming obstacles such as high labour costs, high taxation structures and inefficient logistics. They have formed a consensus and will further discuss what can be done to facilitate the project.
